A personal note

During these tough times, we are doing our very best to keep our site updated. We are working hard to verify the status of all of our services on a daily basis

We deeply care for each and every one of you. Although we are doing everything in our power to make sure that we keep you as updated as possible, we recommend that if you’re looking to make travel plans, you investigate the destinations yourself, just to make sure that you can, in fact, travel to or from wherever it is that you are going. Double checking the facts will only help ease the travel anxiety you may or may not be feeling.

Have you already booked a ride?

If you’ve already booked a ride with Bookaway and cannot travel due to the Coronavirus outbreak, many operators have issued special exceptions to existing bookings in the affected areas.

Depending on your case, departure location and the operator you intended on traveling with, Bookaway will do as much as we can to help you find a solution.

Track Coronavirus

You can track where the virus has hit, recovery and death rates here, which shows real-time data from the World Health Organization.

Thankfully, in the past weeks, fatalities due to Coronavirus have not increased by much. As of March 6, 2020, recovery rates are 18 times higher than death rates. This virus has finally been named: Covid-19.

Preventative measures

A few different, and reputable, sources have published guides for virus prevention. The key to health is upkeeping hygiene. If you have any concerns or questions, seek advice from your personal doctor or a medical professional.

Common questions

Commonly addressed concerns have been outlined and answered by the World Health Organization. The WHO has over 70 years of experience in centralising medical information, making it accessible internationally.

Travel information

Bookaway understands that if you’re on this blog post, it’s likely that you’re seeking advice in regards to your future or existing travel plans.

In case you have been planning a trip but have not yet purchased tickets, it is worthwhile to do some extra research about the recent news updates of your destination. One of the main things to consider while traveling is personal hygiene; the WHO has set out protocols for this.

For those who have already booked a trip, there is no need to worry. If you purchased the flexible cancellation policy, you can cancel up to 24 hours before the trip. In case you may have any other questions, don’t hold back on heading to the help center on our website

A final note

This coronavirus isn’t the first pandemic that the world has seen. Despite that, in unprecedented times like these, it’s important to be diligent and to keep yourself educated and aware of your surroundings. The most important thing to do, however, is to stay calm.

We’re all in this together. We’re all learning new ways to navigate our new lives with each passing day. We will all come out of this stronger than we were before, and we’re confident that being able to see more than just the world outside of our kitchen windows will be attainable again soon.
