How to get from Boracay to El Nido

Flying

The airport that takes you from Boracay to El Nido is located on the neighboring island of Panay in the Caticlan region. This larger island is accessible with a short ferry ride. The plane from Boracay to El Nido is an Economy flight that takes around an hour. Tickets start at $158, and you can save up to 20% if you are booking a return flight. The plane itself has propellers and is reasonably sized with comfy seats, air conditioning and toilet facilities.

You can bring a good amount of luggage with you, as the operator allows 20kg worth of luggage in the hold as well as up to 7kg of cabin baggage and a laptop bag or handbag. 

Like most flights these days, it is recommended for you to arrive 2 hours before your departure time, especially during peak seasons when there might be an influx of other travelers. Although free cancelations are not possible, changes to your booking are free up to 48 hours before departure. You can use the journey to rest, read or enjoy the island-dotted ocean views from the window. 

The airport in El Nido is situated on the north of the island on the west coast near El Nido Bay. Landing so close to the ocean, you will be near resorts and coastal accommodation. Getting around El Nido is usually done on foot, by motorcycle or tricycle taxi which is a bike operated by a driver with an attached passenger cabin at the back.
